VEER — A New Way to Live Together
VEER reimagines urban living along Saint Paul’s West Seventh corridor, offering a contemporary model for coliving that centers community, wellness, and environmental stewardship. Developed by GRO, this 36-unit community is designed to foster connection through shared spaces and intentional living, while still supporting privacy and individual comfort.
Affordability and design excellence are central to VEER’s vision. All coliving units rents will be at or below 50% of area median income, reflecting GRO’s belief that high-quality, beautifully designed housing should be attainable, not exclusive. By rethinking how space is shared and resources are used, VEER delivers long-term affordability without compromising durability, comfort, or architectural integrity.
Located just steps from the Mississippi River, VEER draws inspiration from its natural and urban context. Biophilic design principles guide the architecture, integrating daylight, fresh air, landscaped courtyards, and wellness-focused amenities that encourage daily interaction. Shared resources - including community gardens, outdoor saunas, gathering spaces, secure bike storage, composting, and an electric car-share - support lower household costs while strengthening community life.
VEER is designed as an all-electric PHIUS development. On-site solar generation, a high-performance building envelope, and efficient mechanical systems work together to reduce operating costs and environmental impact over time. Rooted in the character of the West Seventh neighborhood and the Mississippi River corridor, VEER reflects GRO’s commitment to housing that is affordable, sustainable, and deeply connected to place—demonstrating that thoughtful design can support both people and planet.
